Nursery rhymes that help children to learn a language are found in all cultures and traditions.
That makes sense, because research suggests our ancestors started singing before they started speaking.
However, the nursery rhymes that exist are often artificial, and grammatically incorrect.
Our songs are designed to follow natural speech.
We want to expose children to language learning as early as possible, because developing familiarity with a language will give them much more confidence later on (for example, learning the language at school)!
We know that music can help with learning, by activating areas of the brain involved in movement, memory and emotion, which speaking alone does not. It is even used to help people to learn to talk again.
Through music, we want to make language learning fun, effortless, and accessible for kids (and adults)!
